Verse 1
We’re the Rodeo Bull Rescue, we’ve come to save the day,
From those big, mean cowboys who rope and ride away.
We raised a ton of money, from every hipster friend,
Said, “Let’s free that bull, man!” – But no one asked what happens then.

Chorus
Well, the bull don’t care ’bout city streets or your Midtown loft,
You can chant and hug him, but that won’t make him soft.
You thought you’d save him from the rodeo’s cruel dance,
Now he’s wreckin’ your office, and you’re scared to drop your pants!
Rodeo Bull Rescue, what a wild time!
Y’all freed the bull – now it’s a New York crime.

Verse 2
They shipped him up to Brooklyn, called him “Mr. Moo,”
Said, “No more chains for you, bull, we’re gonna see you through!”
They gave him an office, with a view of Central Park,
Now the bull’s inside, and they’re all runnin’ in the dark.

Chorus
Well, the bull don’t care ’bout your vegan snacks or hemp,
He ain’t lookin’ for a protest or a 5-star Yelp.
You thought you’d save him from that cowboy’s mean ol’ rope,
Now he’s breakin’ your desks, and you’re runnin’ out of hope!
Rodeo Bull Rescue, now y’all see the truth,
You freed the bull – now he’s smashin’ your roof!

Bridge
You crowdfunded cash, talked big with pride,
Said you’d save the bull, and take him for a ride.
Well, now he’s ridin’ you like a subway train,
And you’re learnin’ quick: bulls ain’t house-trained!

Verse 3
You bought him designer hay, laid rugs down on the floor,
But when the bull got movin’, he smashed right through the door!
Your office once was sleek and chic, it had that urban grace,
But now the bull’s redecorating, at quite a frantic pace.

Chorus
Well, the bull don’t care ’bout your fancy decor,
He’s turnin’ every room into a rodeo floor.
You thought you’d save him, make the cowboys pay,
Now he’s turned your start-up into a barnyard melee!
Rodeo Bull Rescue, what a New York mess,
Y’all freed the bull – now it’s your life he’ll stress!

Outro
So let this be a lesson, to every city fool,
Leave the bulls in Texas, where they know the rules.
You can’t teach a rodeo bull to roam free,
‘Cause he’s a wreckin’ ball with horns in NYC!
Rodeo Bull Rescue – hope y’all learned real fast,
Some bulls ain’t made for your high-rise glass!

Rodeo Bull Rescue

by Alan Nafzger (2019)

They set out with high hopes, to rescue a beast,
From the rough rodeo cowboys, to give him release.
With donations from hipsters, they raised quite a sum,
But no one asked the question: what happens when he’s free to run?

They shipped him to Brooklyn, called him “Mr. Moo,”
Gave him an office with a Central Park view.
But bulls don’t care for skyscrapers or sleek modern flair,
He smashed through the desks with wild-eyed glare.

They offered him kale chips, hemp ropes to chew,
But Mr. Moo didn’t care, he had work to do.
Wrecking the place, with a snort and a shout,
Redecorating offices, with chaos about.

They lit some incense, prayed for some peace,
But the bull kept on bucking, wouldn’t give them release.
He tossed all their furniture, ripped through their screens,
Turning their start-up into rodeo scenes.

The sleek urban loft, now a barnyard mess,
Their dreams of rescue, turned into distress.
They learned that bulls don’t fit city life’s rules,
And found out the hard way: they’d been fools.

So let this be a lesson, for city folk naive,
Some creatures belong where they work and they breathe.
For bulls, that’s the rodeo, not the high-rise scheme,
Where they rampage through offices, smashing every dream.
