(Verse 1)
She’s up before the dawn, boots on the ground,
Checking the herd while the world’s still sound,
With a sharp eye and a heart of steel,
She runs this ranch like a spinning wheel.
Her ex husband thinks he runs the ranch,
But she’s the one who makes it all go.

(Chorus)
She’s the Queen of the Range, tough as they come,
Wrangling the men like she’s under the gun,
With a fire in her soul and grit in her veins,
She’s the one who holds the reins.
Oh, the Queen of the Range, she’s in command,
Leading the cattlemen across the land,
She’s got the power, she’s got the might,
Making sure those boys get it right.

(Verse 2)
She busts chops, not just steers all day,
Keeps the men in line in her own fierce way.
She knows when they’re full of bull, don’t even try,
She can spot a tall tale in the blink of an eye.
Fixing more than fences, with hammer and wit,
She’s got the ranch running smoother than a well-oiled bit.

(Bridge)
With a sharp tongue and a sharper wit,
She keeps the cowboys humble, every bit.
She breaks in broncos and breaks in boots,
And if they step out of line, they get the truth.

(Verse 3)
When the day is done and the stars light the sky,
She’s there by the fire, whiskey in her eye,
But don’t think for a minute she’s letting up,
She’s always ready, keeping things sharp as a cup.
The men tip their hats, knowing full well,
She’s the one who keeps them out of hell.

(Bridge)
She’s got the balls to run the ranch her ex used to claim,
Took the reins from his hands, and now she owns the name,
Where he faltered and failed, she’s built it strong and true,
Now the brand on that gate’s hers, and there’s nothing he can do.

(Chorus)
She’s the Queen of the Range, tough as they come,
Wrangling the men like she’s under the gun,
With a fire in her soul and grit in her veins,
She’s the one who holds the reins.
Oh, the Queen of the Range, she’s in command,
Leading the hands across the land,
She’s got the power, she’s got the might,
Making sure those boys get it right.

(Outro)
So here’s to the women who hold the line,
Running the ranch, making it shine,
With strength and grace, they lead the way,
The Queen of the Range rules every day.
Yes, the Queen of the Range rules every day.

COWBOY POETRY

“Queen of the Range”

By Alan Nafzger (1982)

She’s up before dawn, boots hittin’ the dirt,
Checking the herd before the day can flirt,
With a sharp eye steady and a heart like steel,
She turns that ranch like a wagon wheel.
Her ex may think he’s got the know,
But she’s the one that makes it go.

She’s the Queen of the Range, that’s plain to see,
Tougher than leather, wild as she can be,
With fire in her soul, grit in her veins,
She’s the one that holds those reins.

She busts chops, not just cattle all day,
Keeps the cowboys straight in her own damn way.
She knows when they’re full of bull, don’t try,
She spots a tall tale quicker than a fly.
Fixes fences, fixes their lies,
Keeps the ranch runnin’ smooth as the skies.

She’s the Queen of the Range, under the gun,
Wrangling men like a rising sun.
With strength in her hands, wit in her talk,
She walks that ranch like she owns the walk.

At day’s end, when the fire’s set high,
Whiskey in hand, with a fierce gleam in her eye,
But don’t be fooled by the twilight’s glow,
She’s ready to ride, to run the whole show.

Her ex once claimed he ruled this land,
But now it’s her brand on the gate, her hand.
Where he stumbled and fell, she built it right,
Now the Queen of the Range is ready to fight.

So here’s to the women who hold their ground,
Running the ranch without a sound.
They lead with grit, with strength and grace,
The Queen of the Range is tough as lace.
