Has Anyone Seen Barbie Cry? — Music and Lyrics by Alan Nafzger
Verse 1:
Has anyone seen Barbie cry?
Does she even know how to let a tear slide by?
She’s always got that perfect plastic grin,
But deep inside, is there a place where she’s been?
She’s got a dream house and a Malibu view,
But I’m wondering, Barbie, what’s real for you?
Does Ken know what you feel at night,
Or are those pink heels too tight?
Chorus:
Has anyone seen Barbie cry?
Behind those shades, does she ever sigh?
Is there a crack in that flawless face,
Or does she keep her feelings neatly in place?
She’s got the clothes, the cars, the fame,
But is there a heart beneath that name?
Tell me, has anyone seen Barbie cry,
Or is she just too perfect to even try?
Verse 2:
She’s always at the beach or out on a date,
But does she ever just sit and contemplate?
Does the dream house feel a little too big,
Does she ever wish she wasn’t always “so big”?
From astronaut to vet, she’s done it all,
But has she ever tripped, had a stumble or fall?
Maybe she’s tough, but even the best break,
Does she ever take a moment, for her own sake?
Bridge:
Now I’m not saying she’s gotta break down,
But Barbie, does the world ever make you frown?
When the dream gets heavy, when the pressure’s high,
Is there a tear that falls from your perfect eye?
Outro:
Maybe she’s stronger than we’ll ever know,
But every now and then, you’ve gotta let go.
So Barbie, if you ever need to let it out,
Don’t worry, girl, there’s no need to doubt—
We’re all just human, and that’s no lie,
So Barbie, it’s okay to cry.

Has Anyone Seen Barbie Actually DO anything?
Has Anyone Seen Barbie Cry?
by Alan Nafzger (2023)
Has anyone seen Barbie shed a tear,
Or is her world too perfect, with nothing to fear?
She wears that plastic smile, flawless and bright,
But behind those shades, does she sigh at night?
She’s got the dream house, the car, the fame,
Yet, is there a heart beneath that name?
Does she ever feel small in her perfect space,
Or is every feeling kept neatly in place?
From Malibu views to her high heels’ height,
Does she ever wish for something out of sight?
She’s been an astronaut, a vet, a star,
But does she wonder who she truly are?
Maybe she’s tougher than we’ll ever know,
Or maybe, just maybe, she hides her woe.
When the world gets heavy, does she ever try,
To let go of that pressure, to just let herself cry?
